HOW TO LIGHT A DARK KITCHEN

Image
The house is usually chosen according to one's tastes and the light and air that it can guarantee. Every environment, therefore, must be bright and airy, bearing in mind that these characteristics are fundamental especially in the kitchen which is the room where you spend more time cooking, eating and, more often than not, if space allows, to be in company with those you want most. Unfortunately, it is not always possible, for various reasons, to buy or rent an apartment with the requirements previously outlined and in the case in which a property with low light must be considered, because it has no balconies or badly exposed, it is necessary to provide as soon as possible to solve the problem. Certainly this headache becomes even more serious if it occurs in the kitchen, given that, as previously written, it is the most lived-in environment and as such it must be made bright, organizing the artificial light where it is lacking. Before planning the right light it is a...

ORIGINAL LAMPS, TO FURNISH AND ILLUMINATE THE HOUSE IN A DIFFERENT WAY THAN USUAL

Image
The choice of lamps and their placement is one of the most important things you do when designing a Home. Some elements such as wall lamps, ceiling lights and chandeliers must be chosen with great care, also because they are not things that are changed often and easily. For table lamps and all the luminous elements that are added to the rooms instead you have more freedom, both in case you want to replace them and if you want to change their position. But lamps are not just elements designed to illuminate a room. They can also be objects that have the sole purpose of furnishing and giving a particular style to the room. With the original lamps you can add shapes, styles or curious subjects that capture attention just for their design. As use is similar to that of an ornament, but the light puts them in greater prominence and can also have effects on the domestic environment. After all, that's exactly what environmental lights do. In terms of lighting, they are almost nil, b...

IDEAL SOLUTIONS FOR LIGHTING A BLIND BATHROOM

Image
Nowadays more and more homes have a blind bathroom, i.e. without a window. This solution is often adopted when the square meters of the house are small and space needs to be optimized. For this reason, most of the time the bathroom environment is sacrificed. However, this does not mean that light is not important in the latter, rather it is just the opposite. However, since there is no natural light, it is advisable to light the room well to make it comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. There are many solutions that can be used to light a blind bathroom, one of which is to use LED devices. In a blind bathroom, it is not advisable to point the light at the center of the room but to focus attention on some points to make the environment scenographic and effective. An example may be to use LED spotlight to be placed on beams, ceilings or stone walls. On the sink instead, it is possible to place design suspensions that give character and style. Blind bathroom: the most useful ...

FAREWELL TO HALOGEN LAMPS: WHAT CHANGES NOW?

Image
Consider energy class D, the halogen bulbs, from 1 September 2018 they have been banned by the European Commission, under the directive EUP - Energy Using Products 2005/32 / EC, which came into force appears to be already been postponed for two years. More sustainable lighting, according to ENEA, would guarantee significant energy savings, both in economic and pollution terms, by far reducing the CO2 emissions currently produced by halogen lamps. This objective can be reached by replacing the same with the most efficient LED lighting systems (Light Emitting Diode), which would encourage eco-design and lead to an estimated annual per capita savings of around 115 euros. LED technology is capable of transforming about 50% of the received electricity into light, dispersing only the remaining part. This does not happen with traditional halogen lamps, whose inefficiency is given by the use of a minimal part of the energy received (about 15%) at the expense of a large amount of en...

LIGHTING OF A PLASTERBOARD CEILING

Image
There can be many functions of a home ceiling. From the reduction of the surface to be heated, with consequent savings from the economic point of view, to a greater definition of zones and contours. With particular regard to open spaces, i.e. without well-defined boundaries, the creation of false ceilings have pleasantly allowed us to redefine the proportions of some areas, establishing their functions fully and precisely, with consequent final the dynamism of the whole. Leaving aside for the moment the structural ambit and making a jump towards the lighting of the environment in question, a properly realized false ceiling represents the basis of an optimal and functional lighting project. Taking up what has just been affirmed, it is good and right, during the design phase, to opt for a lighting system that fully enhances the whole environment. Based on the choice made, this is able to give the false ceiling a more or less considerable height, reduci...
